That seems like an awful lot of weight and stress to put on that spare tire mount and hitch. With it riding that high up you are giving the weight of the tire a huge mechanical advantage over the hitch point.
Haven't updated this in awhile, I've had a few trips to Uwharrie. Finally racked up the parts for my 4.5" lift, also got a new set of Kenda Klever 33x12.50r15!! I'll share some pics in the next few weeks.
Maybe in the far far future haha doing a good bit to it at the moment and I'm about tapped out, picking up and HD steering setup tomorrow (tie rod/drag link conversion) as well as adjustable lower control arms, I'm can't wait till the 27th (when I'm putting it all back together)
Here's some recent pics, 5" up front and 4.5" in the rear. Some Uwharrie pics this past weekend. Also installed some new headlights as mine were crap lol next is to install my 33's and 42" LED bar. (Didn't have time before my Uwharrie trip.)
Hey OnslowDeerMan, your thread has my interest up. I have a 01 Grand Cherokee (WJ, right?) and was wondering what that 2" coil spacer lift would involve? Is it a pretty easy DIY project for somebody with little/no real wrenching experience? What does a kit like that cost?
I wheeled my zj with 2" spacer lift and it did great!! It's fairy simple. Youtube can talk you through it, I could type it all up but it'd take a minute. Shouldn't take but 2-3 hours. The spacers would only be like $60, your shocks might be limited out so you may want to get extended shocks, mine did just fine though so yours might as well. And yup you've got a WJ!! 😋
