Got a small spot to hunt this year since I lost my lease that I had and I'm trying to plan ahead. My question is in the winter here what is the main wind that we normal get during hunting season. Trying to set my stands soon and don't want to mess up with the wind

others who are closer may be able to give you more insight.. but typically winds are NW with a cold front and SW with a warm front.. we seem to get more southwest than anything..

really depends on where youre located..... in all my areas in the winter its usually ne/nw.... in the summer or warm front its se/sw... all depends

Bow season is normally a sw when gun season rolls around and we have cold fronts it's normally a ne. Hang stand for northern winds and southern winds.

in the piedmont if you can position a stand so that the only "bad" wind is a southeast wind you get to hunt it alot.

If you have multiple stands, try setting them so that you have a location to hunt no matter what direction the wind is.
