Make sure you ask for an armed escort back to your car from the police since they are violating state law by posting against concealed carry.

I wouldn't waste my time there either. They make a law saying you can carry concealed in public places then one man says you can't what kind of bull is that ? Then I heard on the news that the State Fair is considered a private event. I guess people don't care about their gun rights or most don't, the main reason we will lose our firearms one day in America and become disarmed like England !

I would agree if this was a restaurant and avoiding it would hurt the restaurant owner. For the State Fair, a tiny portion of my money spent is affected by the person who put on the ban. The vast majority of my money spent went to vendors that have no say on the gun policy.

And its entirely up to the individual if they go and spend money there, I understand that but I won't...

Heard that the police were not letting knives in either. Even if I could go, I won't. Dang communists/socialists.

I was there Saturday, I went through a metal detector and had a pocket knife. I pulled out and my knife, my keys and some change and showed them to the officer as I walked through the metal detector. The officer smiled and told me to enjoy my afternoon.

I didn't have to go through a metal detector.

i got in fully armed-- with two sets of florian ratchet pruners. They will replace or sharpen at their booth.

I boycott stupidity. Plus I wasn't wasting a pretty day at a money-hungry state fair when my boys wanted to bust some clays at RWCA

I'm going, the allure of deep fried food is too great. Do they have metal detectors at each entrance?

In my defense, I avoid it whenever I can. For instance, I rarely go to chapel hell.

Too much going on to be able to go this year. Though, about the only thing I regret missing is the NC Wildlife tent so I can get my button.

I heard two were robbed at gunpoint when they left. Too bad the state unlawfully prevented them from adequate self defense.
