Has anybody been keeping up with this?

Received several e mails saying this passed the senate and is headed to the house.

Is anybody sending e-mails or calls to your representative?

Understand that the vote has been postponed to Wed., April 29. That gives us more time to contact Senators and urge them to vote NO. Keep after them. Numbers matter to some Senators.

bugg--most of us are keeping up with this on the nctrappers site..where "talking points" were posted several days ago to help compose letters to Senators.....all those names QBD posted have been there awhile..just an FYI

I realize you may have called from a landowners standpoint too. Not many of us want to be told how to control vermin on our own land. The public land/private land booger has been cleared up though...in the last re-write of the bill.

www.nctrapper.proboards.com ...gota register to get in.

The bill DID NOT pass 3rd vote yesterday, and a fee was added for trappers ed courses, so it goes back to Finance or Ag Committee.

Major developments in the last 36 hours appear headed toward a compromise that trappers can live with. It would still eliminate "bucket" sets but would set reasonable enclosure requirements for baited ground sets and other components of the bill.

Work remains to be done to see this through but the fundamental agreement appears to be in place.

Saw the possible amendments and I'm okay with what they are asking now.

I don't trap and I'm a little confused on what a reasonable enclosure would be?

no larger than a 60 sq inch opening and trigger 8" from said opening....like several other states already have and are still effective...and trail sets (unbaited) don't need a box/enclosure at all, only baited boxes.
