2016-2017 Grouse Season

Twelve Pointer
Side note. I started shooting a 20ga last year. Mainly cause my auto 20 weighs almost 2# less than my 12.

Spent most of season shooting 3" #6 shot.

Would really like to find some 3" #7.5 shot but seems like those don't exist.

What does everyone else shoot?

Never used 3" shells for grouse - interesting but not sure I'd go there

Big fan of 7 1/2s early and 6s late

Winchester USED to make them in 3" in their pheasant loads. Note the ones I have must be at least 20 years old. They are in the old silver and red boxes and were when you still got 20 boxes in a case. I wanted #6 when I bought them but they had 7.5 and 4 at Cabelas where I stopped and I was running low so I bought them. I didn't use many on that particular pheasant hunt but was still dove hunting and I kept some in my truck. They came in handy if I got in a bad spot in the dove fields and were only afforded the high passing shots on doves. That was what they wound up being used for primarily.
