Going to be at g'father mtn campground this coming weekend, planning on hitting the watauga DH with the fly rod some. Any suggestions from anyone that has fished it recently?

I am super new to this, only a couple fish caught so far this year...but really?! I have one of those, haven't tried it yet it just seems giant. Do they hit most of the year? Is this a good all year long lure?

I used to love fishing the Watauga back near Hounds Ear Club until they marked it off as private property. It was typically catch and release when I got the opportunity to fish it, but it was still fun catching loads of trout. My other go to spot years back was towards Valle Crucis off Old Shulls Farm, but as you can imagine, that is all posted private property now as well. Good luck to those going, hopefully you'll be able to find areas along the watauga that are open for public fishing and not posted property.
