Crab trap

Anyone use a crab trap from Walmart? I was thinking about trying to set one out this wknd. Any suggestions?

If you are talking about the crab pots that they sell, you have to have a recreational commercial gear license to use them unless tied to the shore. If you have a RCGL, I think you are allowed to use five pots.

After that, bait it with menhaden if you can get them. Chicken and other stuff will work but nothing compares to using menhaden.

if you are gigging just buy a long dip net from walmart instead. I usually see enough to make it worth it.
