Our area biologist needs a little help collecting jaw bones in our area. If anyone up this way who is successful would be willing to help out and pull a jawbone from your kill, I will be glad to try and get it from you for him. If you need help on how to get the jawbone out just PM me and I'll help. If you do have anything I can pick up just PM me or call at 919-849-1337. He will be back this way next week sometime so maybe there will something for him by then. So far I have only been able to get him 2 and he needs 15 from each county in our district.

Lee, how far are you from Berea Fire Dept?

I can see what we can do SAT or pass it along at least.

How does it need to be prepared?

PM back at you Harpoon.
For those who may be interested...... just pull the jawbone by popping the back of the jaw with lopping shears beyond the last tooth, cut the hide back, cut the tongue loose, pull the bone out and separate in the middle. Scrape the bone so the date and sex can be written on the bone.
