Coyote Kills

A lot of good information flowing lately regarding coyote hunting and trapping.

Nothing better than seeing a dead coyote.

Let's see those dead coyote pictures (from hunting and or trapping). If shot while hunting, tell us about your set up.

My husband caught several this summer on a depredation permit. He caught them trapping. Here are some pics.

I also shot one while deer hunting with muzzleloader. Pic of him is on back of 4 wheeler. Here are 3 more pics of what my husband caught trapping. He's just getting into trapping and learning but doing well so far.

Wow looks like you put a hurtin' on that one shot with a muzzle loader. Good work and we sure need more of these things taken out of the gene pool.

Thanks. Good job yourself. I enjoy reading your hunting stories. You are right, they are a big problem and need to be taken care of.

Looks like you all don't have any shortage of yotes. Good job. That looks like a pretty good sized one and nice coloration. Best thing is it's history by now though. LOL.

Thanks. My husband had a good weekend. Had a double this morning. Best part he finally caught 2 females! They won't have any more pups! Both were good sized. One was 34lbs other was 40lbs.

Congratulations. Hubby sure is laying them out and it's good when you take out the females.

Holy Smokes he sure is laying them out. You folks must be infested with those sorry rascals. Was just wondering why he needed a depredation permit until I considered that he is trapping them. I guess that is why he needs the permit.

Trapping season is in now so he doesn't have a permit but he trapped a produce farm back in the summer which required a permit. The coyotes destroyed a produce farm. They ate sweet corn, watermelons, and canteloupes.

From what I understand there isn't anything that a coyote won't eat. I once read an article where one of the universities were doing a study on the "diet of coyotes". They were examining the stomach content of dead coyotes and they found one that had even eaten a shoe sole. If they would eat that then I have to agree there isn't much they won't eat. I even captured one on a game camera that caught, killed and carried off a small possum. If they can eat that then definitely they can eat anything. LOL. My Jack Russell has killed a few possums. Every time he grabs it and shakes or clamps down on it to kill it when he drops it he goes and pukes. Goes back and attacks again then goes and pukes again. You would think he would have learned by now. LOL.

You folks are either spending a lot of time yote hunting OR you are overrun with them. Congratulations.

Thanks. Kinda both. Trapping a couple properties but there seems to be an abundance of the rascals. We've only been trapping them for 3 weeks. I hope this helps my deer herd.

My son finally called in and killed his first coyote Thursday night .A big male weighed 39 lbs. Called him in with a MFK 2 reed pup howler. Came out into a field and took him about 100 yds with a 243 with Coyote Reaper light.
