Dependable schedules are nice and if you do get called in hopefully it will be OT or bonus pay! Glad the new job worked out for you!

I second the ALS holster if you have to have positive retention I have quite abit of experience with both platforms and I will not use Serpa anymore. I don't care so much about the ND's but I have it hang up on a stressed draw multiple times in tactical training situations. aLS holsters have not caused that for me. Unless it's required I would recommend going with passive retention kydex or leather. One less variable if you really need it.

I also can't tell but if you have the factory plastic sights ditch them now form metal ones. I personally recommend either the factory Glock night sights or Trijicon as they are both built to take abuse.

The Safariland ALS 7TS is a faster, more intuitive motion. The SERPA's work fine, but the Safariland is better. The "safety hazard" stuff is overblown, IMO.
