RALEIGH, N.C. (March 21, 2016) — The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will conduct five public meetings to gather input regarding black bear management. The meetings will serve as an open forum to receive public comment regarding options that would change the current coastal bear hunting seasons to align with the new biological bear management units that were presented at last year’s forums (See report).

I think the byline on the article is a miss print. The dates of the meetings correspond to the days of the week this year. (Ex: meeting on Tuesday, March 28 is this year. Last year March 28 was not a Tuesday.)

It's true the meetings are the first week of April one in Bladen Co. and one in New Bern. There are gonna be some major changes to the bear seasons starting in 2018.
