prayers sent..
most of the time these ulcers are systemic and the result of something else going on in the body. Hopefully they will figure it out very soon as her overall health may very well be compromised.

Over a year later and still a mess. Doctors diagnosed it as a condition called pyoderma gangrenosum. It is some nasty stuff. I would appreciate a few prayers that they can get this stuff under control.

Prayers inbound.
Just grasping but you might find the below links helpful. HBOT, aka hyperbaric oxygen therapy, has been shown to help this condition depending on the cultures.

Prayers sent. Curious what facility she has been to and, other than a dermatologist, which type of doctor. She has an autoimmune disorder, fibromyalgia, and I have ulcerative colitis so this has peaked my interest more than just concern. Has she been to a "teaching" hospital?

She is currently with a specialist at Duke University. They are familiar with the disease as they currently have existing patients with it. It is immune related but no really known cause. If there is a test or treatment that can be done, they have done it. Compression bandages seem to be working the best. Thanks for the prayers everyone.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question but is she able to walk at all?

With a walker. She went from walking 5 miles a day to a wheelchair in about a month. Not sure how she does it because stuff oozes out when she walks if they are not bandaged. Luckily home health has been assigned to come do her bandages now. I've been taking her to Duke 3 times a week for a while now.

Ok, I was hoping at least she wasn't stuck in a bed all day. Stay positive and help her stay positive.

Thanks for the info. I'll read up on it and pass it along to her.
