Seed Storage

Long story short bought some clover and chicory seed on clearance from Cabelas that I am going to plant in spring. It came in those polyester type bags that cob corn is sold in. I have placed it in the hall closet where it can stay in the dark and temps are stable. Anything else I should do?

Also, feed oats are popping up in my plot thanks for the previous advice. If we can get some significant rain it should turn out thick and huntable.

You can freeze it and it will make it keep it's germ..you could drop it in a trash bag and drop it in the freezer.

You will lose germination for most of your large grains below 50%. The smaller seeds that aren't grain will be ok.

Those aren't grains, they will be good for several years. You will lose a bit of germination but not significant.

I've never had that kinda fridge or freezer space, so I'm not sure on that question. Just no hot moist areas.
