    Default Mason Inlet

Does anyone have any experience fishing/catching Mason Inlet at the north end of Wrightsville Bch.? Have not fished it before but have a chance to go down next weekend.

From the Surf, both ocean front and at the inlet.

bring some waders and get out on the spit right after high tide. There should be a few school of drum cruising around. There is typically a slough between shell island and the inlet that can hold drum and trout. The channel runs on the south side of the inlet then cuts to the marsh bank after passing figure 8. You should be able to fish the marsh bank if you feel like walking back there. It has filled in a lot making crossing possible. Now is the time of year the drum get schooled up in the surf. The water is clear so you might be able to see them just past the breakers.
