8 up with it

Not sure if this has been posted or not, but I just caught my first episode of it. It was a rerun from back in January. They were turkey hunting, in a ground blind, and shot a turkey standing directly under a corn feeder. Is this show always like this? I mean, what's the minimum criteria for creating a hunting show?

Apparently not much, and fishing shows either. Within the last year I've seen a lady shoot a bear in the belly while it was standing up (saw the dust fly where it hit), they did not recover it until the next day. Saw a "guest hunter" shoot a buck with a "varmit bullet" and lost the deer, and in general lots disrespectful behavior to the game.

Last week saw a wise :donk:donk:donk catch a spotted bass, then wipe one side of it on his shirt and wipe the other side with his hand. Kept it out of the water way too long, and put it back with a lot less slime. At least 50% of the shows I see are full of jerks.

The only criteria for a hunting show seems to be prominent placement of the sponsors' products.

Hunting shows have all gotten horrible. There are more sponsor call outs than hunting in most of them. They would all make you believe the only way to kill a deer is to have all the latest gear.

Hunting shows are kinda like watching porn- Fun to watch, but we all know thats not how it really happens.

If its legal to take a turkey with corn (and I am guessing it was) some folks may very well like that.

For a lot of people baiting is the only way they hunt.

I'm convinced the majority of Americans are attracted to anything that moves and makes noise.

Spot on. Anymore if I feel the urge to watch a hunting show I find some normal person on YouTube who filmed their hunt.

One of you needs to do a vidio like the NASCAR sponsors one that was posted here the other day, thanking everybody you can think of. I'd love to see that one.

I predict the biggest challenge on TV shows will eventually become the youth. Especially with so many youth days/weeks becoming opened.

It'll start was what youth killed the biggest so and so. Eventually, the records will become unrealistic, and the actual age of the hunter will become what shows are about.

After toddlers rifling deer become the norm, We will see camo strollers, with gun holders attached, so that the newborns can make contact with a pacifier, which activates the trigger.

It won't stop, until the first fetus bags a big game animal.

These 8 up guys? They are just another few who convinced enough sponsors to give them free stuff to promote all in the name of video footage of killing critters. Sponsors think that no one wants to watch a great hunt, if nothing was bagged ad held up in front of the cameras. :(

You're right St8. I'd personally rather watch someone hunt hard and not connect, than watch someone sit in a ground blind and shoot a turkey that comes in to a decoy on a corn pile. But apparently that's too much to ask. I rarely watch hunting shows anymore, and watching that episode reminded me why.

I wouldn't have been able to even watch the kill , as soon as I saw a deke under a feeder the tv would be off lol
