Anybody on here work with the chemical escort? Taking a forest pesticide class this semester and looking to talk with as many people as I can who have experience. Thanks.

I have seen Metsulfuron used a lot in site prep mixes and some on mid rotation releases. If you want to get rid of blackberry, elm, locust, sericea lespedeza and other species Imazapyr (Arsenal or Chopper) misses it does a "good" job. With a typical application rate of an ounce or two per acre it is often added to mixtures as a level of "insurance" for production management objectives. It can be used to release hardwoods seedlings from annual weeds before buds open in the spring, but have seen problems with pigweed in treated areas in retired crop fields.

What are you looking to control?

I haven't used it a lot, but adding a little to arsenal certainly helps on blackberry. But most tracts, unless covered in blackberry, I like to leave them for wildlife.
