Nags Head piers

Looking for information or suggestions on which of the four piers to fish this time of year. I know it's a little early in the year, but we are going that way in the next couple of weeks to play tourist and want to try to fish a couple of days.

I have no idea what they're catching on the piers but if you're not dead set on fishing on a ocean pier, try the little bridge on the Nags Head - Manteo Causeway. They have been catching fish there the past couple weeks.

Stop in Whalebone Tackle, those guys will point you in the right direction.

Is the little bridge area good for a kid and older person with hip issues? Those are the main reasons for sticking with the piers.

Yeah, they have a handicap accessible pier at the little bridge and each side of the bridge has a fishing area along the length of the bridge. You are fishing on part of the bridge that was built for fishing. If you search "little bridge fishing Nags Head" there are ton of articles online about it.

Avalon Pier is reporting quite a few trout in the morning on grubs this week. Jennette's Pier is reporting multiple types of fish, including puffers and some trout.

Little Bridge . . . Fish are just starting to show up in the sound in that area. It was news last week when someone caught a small puppy drum. You may catch some. Was down two weeks ago, and there was nothing happening at the Little Bridge. However, the warmer weather can and will cause that area to turn on overnight.
